Unidentifiable Objects

Not words, not images. Rules and experiences emerge into abstract work. “Unidentifiable Objects” is a show of artists who make art about the world without being didactic. Materials are major characters in these works—creatures made of junk, fiber infestations, attic plaster disasters, bronze primordial artifacts, and tie-dye playhouse poles.

Life is confusing, full of contradictions, false memories, joy, grief, and sensations. Artists absorb these abstractions and respond. To echo such complexity, strange curiosities take shape, born of intuition and ambiguity. New forms emerge— objects that are alien to us, unidentifiable, unexpected, alive.

Art Show Projects is proud to present works by Bradley Milligan, Yasmeen Abdallah, Vandana Jain, Christine Stiver, Jennifer Macdonald, Sasha Cravis, and Loretta Violante, curated by Rachel Yanku and Jordan Segal.
